CORPORATE MC

Another feather in Penny’s boa is that of corporate MC. Having been a Creative Director of ConArtists for 22 years, and a self employed entertainer for the same, she has entertained thousands of corporate guests with professionalism and aplomb.

She can do this as her gregarious self, or as an array of characters that might befit the occasion. From hosting Dancing with the Stars for Netball NZ, to an awards night and quiz for The Market Research Association of NZ to theatresports games for a small medical practice dressed as an elf, Penny has done it all leaving people both soundly entertained and very organised.

As a wedding celebrant and MC she is also very used to running events to a tight schedule and keeping an array of personalities happy and entertained.

She can host events, write scripts for ceremonies, hold quizzes/competitions, act in character, improvise with the audience and most importantly as an MC, create an atmosphere of fun and enthusiasm in the room. She has also done this with events such as hosting Poetry Idol for ten years in the Auckland Writer’s Festival, and for four years in the WOMAD poetry slam, entertaining thousands.

TESTIMONIALS

“Penny was absolutely amazing for us. So organised and enthusiastic. She was a great fit for our event, full of energy and had everyone very entertained. She fully met our brief and brought it to life with ease!” Netball NZ

“Thank you for an amazing time on Friday at Kelliher. Penny and Robert were incredible and our members loved them.” National Kitchen & Bathroom Association

“Just wanted to say a big Thank You to Robert and Penny for making our staff Christmas party so much fun.  Everyone had a fab time.” Glenfield Medical

“Without a shadow of a doubt I would highly recommend Penny Ashton to MC any event you have. Penny recently was the MC for our two day FACS “Meeting of the minds” conference, at which the attendees and speakers consisted of both international and national people, parents, youth, healthcare professionals, academics, MP’s and other interested parties.

When you are talking about foetal anticonvulsant syndrome (FACS), it is an extremely emotive topic.  Without a second thought Penny was able to read what the attendees needed and was able to do that, whether it be a rendition of one of her one poems, lighten up the mood in the room, or just tell one of her own personal stories. All the attendees we have spoken to about Penny say she was the perfect choice for the conference, and talk of her fondly.  A sentiment we absolutely agree with.

She was there ahead of time, came prepared, and interacted with everyone. We cannot thank Penny enough for MC’ing our conference.” FACSNZ
